Liverpool have made a £105m offer for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz.

The German club value the player at €150m, which equates to just over £126m. Bayern Munich and Manchester City are also trying to sign the 22-year-old, who was among one of the Bundesliga’s most impressive performers last season.

Liverpool is reportedly close to signing Florian Vertz from Bayer Leverkusen. Liverpool has made a bid of up to €130 million, approaching Leverkusen’s valuation of €150 million. The key factor is that Vertz has chosen Anfield despite interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester City, reversing his initial preference to stay in Germany.

This potential transfer would be a dream signing for Liverpool and could break the British transfer record. The deal is moving quickly under the new management of Richard Hughes and Arne Slot, reminiscent of Liverpool’s efficient transfer dealings in the past. This would be a record signing for Liverpool, exceeding their previous highest fees paid for players like Virgil Van Djk and Darwin Nunez.
